How to remove personal information from a PDF

  1. Turn on the AI option if you also want names, places and companies found.
  2. Drop the PDF above. Personal details are highlighted on every page.
  3. Use Accept all, or go through them one by one with A (accept) and X (reject).
  4. Export the cleaned PDF. Metadata such as author and software is removed as well.

What it finds for you

Pattern checks validate what they find (a card number must pass its checksum), so you review fewer false alarms.

  • Names, places and organisations (with the on-device AI option)
  • Email addresses, phone numbers and postal addresses
  • Card, bank account, IBAN, IFSC and UPI details
  • PAN, Aadhaar, SSN and other ID numbers
  • Dates of birth, and faces in photos

Hidden data goes too

PDFs carry more than what's on the page: author names, editing software, comments and form fields. The exported file is a fresh PDF built from page images, so none of that comes along.

Private by design

Your file is opened, read and exported inside your browser tab. It is never uploaded, so nobody (including us) can see it.

Questions

Does the AI send my PDF anywhere?

No. The AI is a small model that runs in your browser. It downloads once from this site and your document is never sent to it remotely.

Will it catch everything?

It catches most common details, but no detector is perfect. Review the result and draw boxes over anything it missed.

This PDF is password-protected

e-Aadhaar PDFs use the first 4 letters of your name in CAPITALS followed by your year of birth (e.g. RAVI1991). Bank statements often use part of your name, date of birth or customer ID.

The password only unlocks the file in this tab. It isn't saved or sent anywhere, and the copy you download has no password.
